Empowered Parenting: Navigating ADHD Together

Session 4: Thriving, Not Just Surviving - Advocacy & Self Care

May 24:  9am-12pm

🧘‍♀️ You are their advocate, you can’t pour from an empty cup, and you still need to hold them accountable.

In Session 4, we'll explore parent advocacy roles and the importance of holding your child accountable. Because guess what? ADHD is with them forever, so they aren't "off the hook" for self-responsibility. Balancing advocacy and accountability causes confusion for many parents - we'll unpack it.

Let's not forget about the importance of managing the stress that comes with parenting a child with ADHD because... parenting a child with ADHD can feel like running a marathon that never ends. The constant demands, worries, and emotional ups and downs can leave you feeling drained, overwhelmed, and questioning whether you’re doing enough. But here’s the truth: If you’re running on empty, you can’t show up as the parent your child needs. That’s why Thriving, Not Just Surviving is a lot about YOU—when you prioritize your wellbeing, the benefits are multifaceted.

I will address three essential areas to empower you as a parent and a person: managing your stress, ideas for a personalized self-care plan that works for YOUR life, not someone else’s Instagram-perfect version of it, and foundational pieces you need to be an advocate for your child while helping them practice self-responsibility. Bring your questions about school, whether it is about supports, IEPs, accommodations, strategies for learning, etc.

This module isn’t just a “nice-to-have”—it’s essential. When you prioritize your wellbeing and take proactive steps to advocate for your child, you set the stage for a healthier, happier family dynamic. Parenting a child with ADHD comes with unique challenges that lead to a lot of self-doubt and uncertainty. It can feel very lonely. But...you’re not alone, and you don’t have to do this all by yourself. You can be equipped to show up the way you want most of the time (because remember, you're human) and practice self-compassion on those tough days that you want to pull our hair out.

🌟 Added benefit: Learn about thriving with a group of parents who can understand and relate to you.

You deserve this. Your child deserves this. Let’s thrive together—sign up now!
