Empowered Parenting: Navigating ADHD Together
Session 2: Build Connection and Communicate
March 29: 9am - 12pm
💬 Tired of miscommunication and meltdowns?
Let’s face it—parenting a child with ADHD can feel like an endless loop of misunderstandings, meltdowns, and frustration. You’re trying your best, but somehow, no matter what you say or do, it doesn't seem to work. You're exhausted by the impulsivity, inattentiveness, and emotional highs and lows and connection with your kid keeps slipping through the cracks. Sound familiar?
We’re flipping the script. This isn’t about yelling less or saying the “perfect” thing. It isn't about fixing them, or using extreme consequences. We will look at important aspects of connection, why your kid needs it, and various ways you can connect. Then we will dive into communication: the essential components of communicating with a kid who has ADHD, where parents go wrong, and strategies & tools that can help throughout ages & stages. I will share why your lens is key to their regulation, executive function development, and problem solving in hard times... and paint the picture for you of how all this can lead to a long-lasting, secure relationship with your child that will last into their adulthood.
You will get the foundations for connecting & communicating: how to work with the emotions, active listening techniques, and assertive communication (without the guilt or the power struggles). By the end, your toolbox will have some practical things in it that will help you feel more confident and ready to tackle those tough moments. Most importantly, your kid will feel understood and connected to you. They will know you are a team.
This is your chance to turn conflict into communication and strengthen the bond with your kid. It is an investment in your future relationship. Are you ready? ✨ Let’s transform meltdowns and power struggles into teamwork.
